The birth of the American song brought with it music that was filled with vigor, originality and musical daring. It was a new, distinctly American spirit which flowed through the popular songs of Stephen Foster, Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin and continued with the great Broadway music of Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, the Gershwins, Lerner & Loewe, Frank Loesser, and Stephen Sondheim. In their concerts, Jean and Bill McClelland have been acclaimed for the vitality, care and artistry they bring to this brilliant music.

Singer Jean McClelland's career has spanned musical theater, concert and opera. She appeared in the Broadway production of Camelot starring Richard Harris and at the John Harms Center as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Jean has premiered the works of many American composers including Allen Shawn, Thomas Geoghegan, and Bill McClelland. She is a renowned teacher of voice and the Alexander Technique and she is on the faculty of the Graduate Department of Theater, Columbia University.
